What To Do With Fussy Eaters
Do you have a fussy eater in your household? Never fear! With a little help, and the natural growing up process, most kids grow out of the 'I will NOT eat that!' stage (trust me, I speak from personal experience!). In the mean time, hang in there and set a good example – kids learn best by copying what their parents do.
Here are my top tips for fussy eaters:
The best and most important way to encourage healthy eating in your kids is to eat healthy yourself – kids learn by example
Encourage ‘taste testing’ – each meal, get your child to try just one vegetable. They don’t have to eat it, they can spit it into a napkin if they want, but make sure they at least give it a go and taste it.
Don’t introduce your kids to processed foods high in salt or sugar – if they don’t have it in the first place, they wont learn to crave it
Read labels to make sure what ingredients are in the foods you’re feeding your children. Better yet, buy wholefoods in their natural form – fruit, veggies, meat, eggs, wholegrains, etc
